And unto those who are Jews, We have forbidden such things as We have mentioned to you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) before [see Verse 6:146]. And We wronged them not, but they used to wrong themselves.

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah118) ➊ { وَعَلَىالَّذِيْنَهَادُوْاحَرَّمْنَا …:} Hafiz Ibn Kathir (may Allah have mercy on him) said: When Allah mentioned the things forbidden to Muslims, such as carrion and blood, and mentioned that they are only permissible in cases of necessity so that there may be ease for the Ummah, then after that He mentioned the things that were forbidden to the Jews, which have already been mentioned in Surah An-Nisa (160) and Surah Al-An'am (146). These things, despite being pure and lawful, were made forbidden to them because of their rebellion and wrongdoing, and were included in the burdens and shackles that were placed upon them due to their transgression. Then, with the coming of our Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), their prohibition was lifted, and only those things were forbidden whose prohibition was not as a punishment but as a matter of wisdom and mercy.
➋ { وَمَاظَلَمْنٰهُمْوَلٰكِنْكَانُوْۤا… :} For its explanation, see Surah An-Nisa (160, 161). This also refutes the claim of the Jews that the things forbidden to them have always been forbidden and therefore are forbidden forever. See also Surah Aal-e-Imran (93).

And whatever We made unlawful for the Jews, We have already explained to you [121] before. We did not wrong them, but they wronged themselves.
[121] Only Four Things Are Essentially Forbidden:
Here, reference is made to verse 146 of Surah Al-An’am, which was revealed much earlier than Surah An-Nahl. In terms of chronological order, Surah Al-An’am is number 55, while this Surah An-Nahl is number 70. The objection of the disbelievers of Makkah was that, in the Shariah of the Children of Israel, besides these four things, there are many other things that are forbidden, which you Muslims have declared lawful. If the Mosaic law is also from Allah, then why are you violating it? And if both the Mosaic law and your law are revealed from Allah, then why is there a contradiction between them? The answer to this objection is being given here, which is that, fundamentally, the things that Allah has forbidden, and which are mentioned in all the books, are these four things. And the additional things that were forbidden to the Jews were made unlawful due to their own disobedience and transgressions.
