Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

The meaning of (Ayah47){وَ نَزَعْنَا مَا فِيْ صُدُوْرِهِمْ مِّنْ غِلٍّ …: ’’ نَزْعٌ‘‘} is to pull out, to uproot and extract. From this, it is understood how deeply rooted malice and enmity become in the heart. {’’ غِلٍّ ‘‘} malice, rancor, that is, Allah Almighty will uproot and throw out every malice from the hearts of the people of Paradise regarding each other in this world, because the heart in which there is any grudge cannot be fully blessed with happiness. After the purification of hearts, they will become brothers and will be sitting face to face on thrones. When there is love, faces naturally turn towards each other, whereas when there is malice in the hearts, even faces turn away from each other:

When hearts change, faces also change.

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said (regarding the people of Paradise): [ قُلُوْبُهُمْ عَلٰی قَلْبِ رَجُلٍ وَّاحِدٍ لاَ اخْتِلَافَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَلَا تَبَاغُضَ ] [ بخاری، بدء الخلق، باب ما جاء فی صفۃ الجنۃ : ۳۲۴۶ ] "Their hearts will be like the heart of a single man, there will be no differences among them, nor any hatred between them." Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: [ يَخْلُصُ الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ مِنَ النَّارِ فَيُحْبَسُوْنَ عَلٰی قَنْطَرَةٍ بَيْنَ الجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ، فَيُقْتَصُّ لِبَعْضِهِمْ مِنْ بَعْضٍ مَظَالِمُ كَانَتْ بَيْنَهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا، حَتّٰی إِذَا هُذِّبُوْا وَ نُقُّوْا أُذِنَ لَهُمْ فِيْ دُخُوْلِ الجَنَّةِ ] [ بخاری، الرقاق، باب القصاص یوم القیامۃ : ۶۵۳۵ ] "The believers will be saved from the Fire and will be stopped on a bridge between Paradise and Hell, then the injustices they committed against each other in the world will be requited among them, until when they are completely purified and cleansed, they will be permitted to enter Paradise." From this verse, it is understood that the Companions and the righteous of the Ummah, despite their mutual conflicts and grievances, will enter Paradise, but before that, the mutual malice in their hearts will be completely removed, and they will enter Paradise as pure-hearted brothers.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

47. 1. The feelings of envy, malice, and enmity that existed among them in the world will be removed from their hearts, and they will be as clear and transparent as a mirror towards one another.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

If there is any resentment [25] in their hearts, We will remove it, and they will be brothers, sitting face to face on thrones.

Purification of Hearts Before Entering Paradise:

If, due to some misunderstandings in worldly life, there remained any resentment or displeasure among righteous people, then before entering Paradise, Allah Almighty will remove all such things from their hearts, and they will enter Paradise as brothers. All previous matters will be erased from their hearts. Sayyiduna Aliؓ, after reciting this very verse, said that he hoped Allah would also bring about reconciliation between himself, Uthmanؓ, Talhaؓ, and Zubairؓ. It should be noted that these four noble Companionsؓ were members of the six-member committee formed by Sayyiduna Umarؓ before his death for the selection of a new Caliph, and this resentment had arisen due to some misunderstandings. Some people have also taken this to mean that in Paradise, the ranks of its inhabitants will be different; some will be deserving of a higher level of Paradise, and some of a lower level. So, before entering, envy, resentment, etc., will be removed from everyone’s hearts, and every inhabitant of Paradise will be content and satisfied with their own rank.
