Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah8) ➊ {اَللّٰهُيَعْلَمُمَاتَحْمِلُكُلُّاُنْثٰى … : ’’ تَغِيْضُ ‘‘ ’’غَاضَيَغِيْضُ‘‘} is from and it is synonymous with {’’نَقَصَيَنْقُصُ‘‘}. It is used in both intransitive and transitive meanings, i.e., to decrease, to reduce. Similarly, {’’ تَزْدَادُ ‘‘} in the form of Bab Iftial is like {’’زَادَيَزِيْدُ‘‘}, meaning to increase and to make more. That is, from conception to the birth of the child, Allah Almighty has knowledge of everything, and this knowledge of the wombs (uteruses) is among the special attributes of Allah Almighty, i.e., the knowledge of whether it is male or female, beautiful or ugly, wretched or fortunate, long-lived or short-lived. See also Surah Najm (32), Zumar (6), and Mu’minun (12 to 14). Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: [ مَفَاتِحُالْغَيْبِخَمْسٌ : «اِنَّاللّٰهَعِنْدَهٗعِلْمُالسَّاعَةِوَيُنَزِّلُالْغَيْثَوَيَعْلَمُمَافِيالْاَرْحَامِوَمَاتَدْرِيْنَفْسٌمَّاذَاتَكْسِبُغَدًاوَمَاتَدْرِيْنَفْسٌۢبِاَيِّاَرْضٍتَمُوْتُاِنَّاللّٰهَعَلِيْمٌخَبِيْرٌ» ] “The keys of the unseen are five (which none knows except Allah Almighty).” (Then he mentioned the things stated in the last verse of Surah Luqman.) [ بخاری، التفسیر، باب : «وعندہ مفاتح الغیب …» : ۴۶۲۷] For further clarification, see the exegesis of the last verse of Surah Luqman. The reality of ultrasound is also discussed there. ➋ {وَمَاتَغِيْضُالْاَرْحَامُوَمَاتَزْدَادُ:} And what the wombs decrease or increase, i.e., the child is miscarried or born incomplete, or there is an increase or decrease in the period of gestation, that for some it is after six or nine months, for others after ten months or even more. ➌ {وَكُلُّشَيْءٍعِنْدَهٗبِمِقْدَارٍ :} Allah Almighty has knowledge of everything from eternity to eternity, He has already determined everything and written it in the Preserved Tablet, and this is destiny. If one does not believe in this, he is not a Muslim. He said: «{ اِنَّاكُلَّشَيْءٍخَلَقْنٰهُبِقَدَرٍ }»[ القمر : ۴۹ ] “Indeed, We have created everything with a measure.” That is, He alone knows how much and how each thing will be; there can be no increase or decrease in this measure.

8. 1 What is in the womb: male or female, beautiful or ugly, righteous or wicked, long-lived or short-lived? All these things are known only to Allah. 8. 2 This refers to the duration of pregnancy, which is generally 9 months, but it can also decrease or increase; sometimes this period is 10 months and sometimes 7 or 8 months. The knowledge of this too is with none but Allah. 8. 3 That is, how long is someone's life? How much share of sustenance will he receive? Allah has complete knowledge of this.
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani

Allah is the One who knows what every female bears, and what the wombs lose or exceed. Everything with Him is by due measure.
[13] The Vastness of Allah’s Knowledge:
That is, He knows well the nature of these people, and He has known it since the time they were in their mothers’ wombs. Such is the vastness of His knowledge that He knows what changes occur to the sperm-drop (nutfah) in every womb. How the form and features are shaped from it. Also, whether there is one child in the womb or more, whether the child will be born healthy or blind, lame, or disabled. Whether he will be tall or short, of deficient intellect or intelligent, fortunate or unfortunate, stubborn and rebellious or one who accepts the truth. What his capacity for work will be. For He has set a measure for everything.
