Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah1) ➊ {الٓمّٓرٰ :} These are the disjointed letters; their details have already been mentioned at the beginning of Surah Al-Baqarah. Sha'rawi (may Allah have mercy on him) has mentioned a benefit here that the entire Noble Qur'an is based on connection, meaning every word is joined to the next, except at places where a pause is required, such as at the end of an ayah, etc. For example, take this surah: «{ تِلْكَاٰيٰتُالْكِتٰبِ}» in which every word will be recited with its vowel marks, but the disjointed letters { ’’ الٓمّٓرٰ ‘‘} will not be recited together; rather, all four letters will be recited separately, because Jibreel (peace be upon him) taught the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in this manner, then he recited it in this way, and it has reached us through continuous transmission in this very manner. ➋ { تِلْكَاٰيٰتُالْكِتٰبِ :} When a word is used in an absolute sense, it refers to a complete individual. For example, it is said: {’’فُلاَنٌالرَّجُلُ‘‘} meaning such-and-such person is a man, i.e., he is truly a complete man, not stingy, cowardly, a liar, or crippled. Similarly, in religion and beliefs, {’’اَلْكِتَابُ‘‘} refers to the complete Book, the Noble Qur'an. In grammar, the book of Sibawayh is called {’’اَلْكِتَابُ‘‘}, and among cities, {’’مَدِيْنَةُالنَّبِيِّ صلي الله عليه وسلم ‘‘} is called {’’ اَلْمَدِيْنَةُ ‘‘}. ➌ { وَلٰكِنَّاَكْثَرَالنَّاسِلَايُؤْمِنُوْنَ :} That is, whatever has been revealed to you is the very truth, but most people do not believe due to not reflecting. In this, there is a lesson for those who are followers of the opinion of the majority of mankind, and also praise for those who are blessed with faith; they may be few or many, but the majority are those who are deprived of the blessing of faith.
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
These are the verses of the Quran, and whatever is sent down to you from your Lord is all truth, but most people do not believe.
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
1. Alif. Lam. Meem. Ra. These are the verses of the Book, and what has been revealed to you from your Lord is the truth [1], but most people do not believe.
[1] These are indeed the very truths that have been the fundamentals of religion in the laws of all the prophets. For example, that in the sovereignty of this universe, Allah Almighty has no partner, and that the Day of Judgment will certainly come. This system will be overturned, and another world will be created, in which all good and evil people will definitely be recompensed for their deeds. And these are the verses revealed by Allah, and your prophethood is true, and these are the very things in which the polytheists of Makkah did not believe. After this introduction, now the arguments regarding the oneness of Allah, Who has no partner, are being presented.
