Then, when they entered unto him [Yûsuf (Joseph)], they said: "O ruler of the land! A hard time has hit us and our family, and we have brought but poor capital, so pay us full measure and be charitable to us. Truly, Allâh does reward the charitable."

(Ayah88){ فَلَمَّادَخَلُوْاعَلَيْهِ …: ’’ مُزْجٰىةٍ ‘‘ ’’ أَزْجٰييُزْجِيْإِزْجَاءً‘‘} (Naqis Wawi) To repel, to remove, to push away, that is, (for grain) such a price which no one accepts willingly. The sons, having prepared at their father's command, set out for Egypt for the third time and met the Aziz of Egypt, who had kept their brother back. Addressing him respectfully by his title, they described their own and their family's misery and helplessness, saying that famine, drought, the father's condition due to separation from his sons, and many other calamities had brought them great distress, and they could not arrange the proper price for the grain. They had brought only such a small amount that no one would accept it willingly, and it was not worthy that you would give us grain in exchange for it. Therefore, please show kindness to us by giving us the full measure of grain for whatever this price amounts to, and give us more than that, or overlook the price and give us a full camel-load of grain each; this will be your charity upon us. Shah Abdul Qadir (may Allah have mercy on him) writes: "In the famine, all the means of the house were sold; this time they had brought wool, cheese, and such things to buy grain. Hearing this condition, Yusuf (peace be upon him) felt compassion, revealed himself, and called for the whole family." (Mawdhih)

88. 1. This is their third time going to Egypt. 88. 2. That is, the price (thaman) we have brought to buy grain is very little and insignificant. 88. 3. That is, do not look at our meager capital, give us full measure in exchange for it. 88. 4. That is, accept our meager capital and show kindness and charity to us. And some commentators have interpreted this to mean: by freeing our brother Binyamin, show kindness to us.

88. Then, when they came to Joseph (again, searching for him and his brother), they said, “O noble one! Hardship has touched us and our family, and we have brought only a small amount of goods. So give us full measure, and be charitable to us [85]. Surely, Allah rewards those who give in charity.”
[85] The Third Time the Brothers of Yusuf Appear in Yusuf’s Court:
Now, these brothers had no knowledge about Yusuf ؑ as to where he could be or in which direction they should go to search for him. They did suspect that the caravan which had taken him out of the well was heading towards Egypt, so there was a possibility that he might be in Egypt. However, regarding Binyamin, they were certain that the king of Egypt had kept him with himself, and the third brother was also there. Therefore, for the third time, they again set out for Egypt, managing to gather a little bit of money so that in this time of famine they could at least get some grain, and at the same time, they would try to recover their brothers. Thus, upon reaching Egypt, the very first thing they did was to approach the king of Egypt and pleaded with him that a very difficult time had befallen them. They had no grain to eat, and even for grain, they had no money for the grain. They said, “We have brought a small amount of money. If you could give us the full measure of grain, it would be a great kindness on your part. You have already done us many favors for which we cannot thank you enough. Please do us another favor now, and only Allah can reward you for it. And, God willing, He will surely reward you.”
