Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 29) ➊ {يُوْسُفُاَعْرِضْعَنْهٰذَا …:} After knowing the reality of the matter, the Aziz of Egypt said to Yusuf (peace be upon him): "Yusuf! Overlook this matter (so that the issue does not spread, indeed your truthfulness and purity have been proven)." On the other hand, he said to his wife: "Seek forgiveness for your sin, ask for pardon, surely you are among the wrongdoers." {’’مُخْطِئٌ‘‘} and {’’خَاطِئٌ‘‘} have this difference: the first is the person who makes a mistake out of forgetfulness, not intentionally, and {’’خَاطِئٌ‘‘} is the one who does wrong knowingly, as He said: «{اِنَّفِرْعَوْنَوَهَامٰنَوَجُنُوْدَهُمَاكَانُوْاخٰطِـِٕيْنَ }»[ القصص: ۸ ] "Indeed, Pharaoh and Haman and their armies were wrongdoers." ➋ Apparently, this is the forbearance and patience of the Aziz of Egypt, but in reality, it proves his lack of honor and shamelessness that he considered it a routine matter and settled it. He neither punished his wife nor considered it necessary to separate them from each other. From this, the moral condition of the upper class of Egypt at that time is known, which has now also engulfed the Muslim aristocratic class. (except whom Allah wills) ➌ { وَاسْتَغْفِرِيْلِذَنْۢبِكِ :} From this, it is understood that among all kinds of people, whether good or bad, there is recognition of sin and virtue, and that there is also some degree of faith in the One whose disobedience, after which forgiveness should be sought.

29. 1. That is, do not publicize it. 29. 2. This shows that the chastity of Hazrat Yusuf (علیہ السلام) had become clear to the Aziz of Egypt.
