Indeed in their stories, there is a lesson for men of understanding. It (the Qur’ân) is not a forged statement but a confirmation of (Allâh’s existing Books) which were before it [i.e. the Taurât (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel) and other Scriptures of Allâh] and a detailed explanation of everything and a guide and a Mercy for the people who believe.

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah111){ لَقَدْ كَانَ فِيْ قَصَصِهِمْ … :} That is, in the accounts of the messengers and previous nations, especially Yusuf (Joseph) عليه السلام and all those related to him, such as his father, brothers, the caravan people, the Aziz of Egypt, his wife, the women of Egypt, the fellow prisoners, and the king of Egypt, there is a great lesson for those of understanding. These are not fabricated stories, but rather a confirmation of the authentic matters of the previous heavenly books, an explanation clarifying their omissions and additions, a protector of their authentic subjects, and guidance and mercy for the believers.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

111. 1 That is, the Quran, in which the story of Yusuf (علیہ السلام) and the events of other nations have been mentioned, is not something fabricated. Rather, it is a confirmation of the previous scriptures, and in it is detailed all the necessary matters regarding the religion, and guidance and mercy for the believers.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

111. In their stories there is a lesson for people of understanding. This Qur’an is not a fabricated tale, but it confirms the previous scriptures. It explains everything [105] in detail, and is guidance and mercy for those who believe.

[105]
Three Attributes of the Quran:

The subject of the Quran is the guidance of mankind. Therefore, whatever is related to the guidance of humans, its details have been mentioned in this Book. The detail of ﴿كُلِّ شَئْيٍ﴾ does not at all mean that you should start searching in it for the details of medicine, mathematics, geography, etc. Also, this Book only serves as guidance for those who believe with certainty that it has been revealed by Allah. Then, for such people, it is also a mercy. Indeed, for a person who receives the best guidance in every aspect of life without any cost or hardship, what greater blessing and mercy could there be? And the stories of previous nations and the prophets and messengers that have been mentioned in it contain countless lessons for people of intellect and understanding, and this very thing is proof that the Quran is not a book authored by any human, but rather it has been revealed by Allah Almighty, Who, along with accurately narrating the events of the earliest generations, also includes countless lessons for guidance and admonition within these historical events and stories.
