Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 2) ➊ {مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ:} "From the evil of that which He created" — In this, refuge is sought from the evil of every creature. There is no harm, difficulty, or distress left that is not included in this. In reality, this is a very comprehensive surah for seeking refuge, because when a servant seeks refuge with his Lord from the evil of every creature, then who among the creation can harm him? And if the Owner Himself does not prevent His creation from causing harm, then who can be saved from the evil of the creation?
➋ In this verse, refuge is also sought from the evil of the creation that has already reached, so that Allah may remove it, and also from that which is feared.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

2. 1. This is general; in it is seeking refuge from Shaytan and his progeny, from Hell, and from everything that can harm a person.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

2. From the evil of all that He has created [3].

[3] Everything that exists in the universe has been created by Allah alone, whether those things are living or non-living. And every thing, no matter how beneficial it may be, also has some harm in it. In this verse, there is guidance to seek Allah’s protection from the evil or harmful aspect of everything, whether that evil has already come into existence or there is a danger of some evil arising from it. In this verse, seeking refuge from the evil of everything is mentioned in a general sense. However, in the next three verses, a few specific things are mentioned whose evil is very apparent.
