Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 92) ➊ It is attributed to {قَالَيٰقَوْمِاَرَهْطِيْۤاَعَزُّعَلَيْكُمْ …:’’ ظِهْرِيًّا ‘‘ ’’ ظَهْرٌ ‘‘}, and due to the attribution, there is a kasrah on the letter ẓā’. From here, the tone of Shu‘ayb (peace be upon him) becomes somewhat stern; he says, "Is my tribe more honorable and powerful in your eyes than Allah, Who has sent me as a Messenger?" You have considered the Owner of everything as if He were a worthless thing thrown behind your backs. The point is that not caring about the one sent by Allah is, in fact, to consider Allah Himself insignificant and unworthy.
➋ { اِنَّرَبِّيْبِمَاتَعْمَلُوْنَمُحِيْطٌ :} He is fully aware of all your deeds (which include their statements, intentions, conspiracies, and everything they were doing against Shu‘ayb, peace be upon him); nothing is outside His encompassment.
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
92. 1. That you are ignoring me because of my tribe. But the Allah who has granted me the rank of prophethood, you have no reverence for Him and no respect for this rank in your hearts, and you have cast it behind your backs. Here, Hazrat Shu‘ayb (علیہ السلام) said "اعز علیکم من اللہ" (more honorable to you than Allah) instead of "اعز علیکم منی" (more honorable to you than me), to indicate that insulting the Prophet is, in fact, insulting Allah. This is because the Prophet is sent by Allah. And in the same way, insulting the true scholars and considering them insignificant is an insult to Allah’s religion and a belittling of it, because they are representatives of Allah’s religion. In "واتخذتموہ", the pronoun "ھا" refers to Allah, and the meaning is that you have cast aside the matter of Allah, with which He has sent me, and you have not cared about it at all.
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
92. Shu‘ayb said: "O my people! Is my clan more powerful over you than Allah, that you have cast Him completely behind your backs [105]? Surely, my Lord encompasses all that you do.
[105] It is as if you are sparing me out of regard for my tribe's influence, and that is why you have not stoned me yet. However, in reality, the true regard should be for that Allah in whose control is every single thing in the universe, and you yourselves are also within His power, though you never even accidentally consider this. And if my words are so unpleasant to you, then go ahead and do whatever you are doing; in any case, I will continue my work. Until Allah Himself creates such a situation for decision that everyone will know who among us was on the right path and who was in error.
