Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 86) ➊ {بَقِيَّتُاللّٰهِخَيْرٌلَّكُمْ …: } That is, savings and profit obtained in accordance with Allah’s command are in every way better than wealth accumulated through dishonesty. {’’ اِنْكُنْتُمْمُّؤْمِنِيْنَ ‘‘} (Provided that you are believers) because even the good deeds of a disbeliever will be of no use to him on the Day of Resurrection. See Surah Al-Kahf (18:105).
➋ {وَمَاۤاَنَاعَلَيْكُمْبِحَفِيْظٍ:} That is, I am not a guardian over you who watches your weighing and measuring at all times, nor is this within my power. Only the Lord Almighty has an eye on every single moment of each person; my duty is only to explain to you and to warn you of Allah’s punishment. Whether you accept or not is your own choice.

86. 1 (بَقِیَّتُاللّٰہِ) refers to that which is obtained after giving full measure and weight without any kind of deficiency, and dealing honestly. Since this is halal and pure, and all goodness and blessing is in it, it has been called the remainder of Allah. 86. 2 That is, I can only convey the message to you, and I am doing so by the command of Allah. But to prevent you from evils or to punish you for them, this is not within my power; both of these matters are only in the authority of Allah.
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
86. What remains from Allah’s provision for you is better, if you are believers. And I am not a guardian over you.
[96] That is, you are well-off people who eat and drink comfortably; you have no need to be dishonest. Therefore, be content with the profit obtained through lawful means; Allah will grant blessing in it. If you accept these words and act upon them, it will be better for you, and do all these deeds fearing Allah. I am not your overseer to keep watching who gives short measure and who gives full measure, and who is being dishonest in business dealings and who is not. The second meaning of this sentence could also be that I have conveyed Allah’s message to you, and that was my only responsibility; it is not my duty to bring you to the right path and leave you there.
