Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

3. And does not encourage the feeding of the poor [3].

[3] Neglecting the upbringing of orphans or not even caring about providing food for the needy—let alone feeding them oneself, not even encouraging anyone else to do so—are such moral and social evils that are considered reprehensible in every religion and have always been so considered. But when a person becomes obsessed with accumulating and hoarding wealth, he becomes so miserly that he feels no compassion at all upon seeing the plight of others in need. And the real reason for this hard-heartedness is that they have no belief in accountability on the Day of Judgment.
