Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 7) {الَّتِيْ تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى الْاَفْـِٕدَةِ: ’’ تَطَّلِعُ ‘‘ ’’اِطَّلَعَ يَطَّلِعُ اِطِّلَاعًا‘‘} (Iftiaal) to peep. {’’ الْاَفْـِٕدَةِ ‘‘ ’’فُؤَادٌ‘‘} is the plural of "fu'ad," heart. "Which peeps into the hearts" means it is conscious; whatever disbelief, hypocrisy, miserliness, or stinginess is in the hearts, or faith, generosity, and kindness, it sees all, and it burns only that which is worthy of being burned. Another meaning is that although the fire of this world burns everything, a person dies before the fire reaches the heart, whereas the fire of Hell will reach the heart while burning the body, but the person will not die. The fire will reach the hearts because the heart is the center of corrupt beliefs, evil intentions, and disbelief and hypocrisy.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

7. 1. That is, its heat will reach the heart. Although the fire of this world also has the property that it can reach the heart, it does not actually reach there because a person dies before that happens. But the fire of Hell will reach the hearts, yet there will be no death, despite the desire for it.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

7. Which will rise over the hearts [6].

The Literal Meaning of ﴿فوأد﴾:
﴿أفْئِدَةَ﴾ is the plural of ﴿فوأد﴾, which is derived from ﴿فأد﴾, and ﴿فَأدَ اللَحْمَ﴾ means to roast meat, while ﴿لَحْمٌ فَئِيْد﴾ means roasted meat. According to Ibn al-Faris, this word indicates heat and intense burning. ﴿فُوَادُ﴾ refers to that part of the heart which is connected to human emotions, the intensity of feelings, and their impact. The meaning is that this is a fire kindled by Allah that will reach that part of the heart which is the center of emotions, where the passion for wealth resides, and which is filled with feelings of looking down upon others and considering oneself to be something great. This fire will roast those emotions and that part of the heart.
