فَأَثَرْنَ بِهِۦ نَقْعًا ﴿4﴾
And raise the dust in clouds the while.
فَأَثَرْنَ fa-atharna Then raise
بِهِۦ bihi thereby
نَقْعًۭا naqʿan dust

(Ayah 4) {فَاَثَرْنَ بِهٖ نَقْعًا: ’’ فَاَثَرْنَ ‘‘ ’’أَثَارَ يُثِيْرُ إِثَارَةً‘‘ (افعال) ’’ اَلْغُبَارَ ‘‘} Fā atharna is from athāra, yuthīru, ithāratan (Form IV), al-ghubār: To raise dust. {’’ نَقْعًا ‘‘} Dust.

And by those who raise clouds of dust [4],

[4] ﴿تردّي﴾ ﴿ردي﴾ means to throw something down from a height onto the ground or to throw it into a pit from the ground so that it is destroyed, and ﴿تردي﴾ means to fall into a well or pit oneself and be destroyed. And here, the pit refers to the pit of Hell. That is, this second type of person will fall into the pit of Hell, and at that time, his wealth, which he did not spend in the way of Allah, will be of no use to him because that wealth would have remained in the world. How could it benefit him there?
