And what think those who invent a lie against Allâh, on the Day of Resurrection? [i.e. Do they think that they will be forgiven and excused! Nay, they will have an eternal punishment in the Fire of Hell]. Truly, Allâh is full of Bounty to mankind, but most of them are ungrateful.

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 60) ➊ { وَ مَا ظَنُّ الَّذِيْنَ يَفْتَرُوْنَ عَلَى اللّٰهِ الْكَذِبَ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ:} That is, what treatment will be given to them? (Fath-ur-Rahman) Do they think that by declaring lawful as unlawful and unlawful as lawful without any evidence and by fabricating lies against Allah, they will not be held accountable and will be left alone like this?

➋ The tanween in { اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَذُوْ فَضْلٍ عَلَى النَّاسِ …: ’’ فَضْلٍ ‘‘} is for magnification, meaning Allah is indeed the possessor of great bounty upon people that He created them, granted them intellect and every blessing, then gave them respite, and despite their disobedience did not decrease their sustenance. But seeing His gentleness and respite (giving time), they become even bolder in sins and declare whatever they wish from His provided sustenance as lawful or unlawful. Both the polytheists and the People of the Book were involved in such ingratitude, as they had made many things part of the religion from their own side. (Ibn Kathir)

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

60. 1. That is, what treatment Allah will give them on the Day of Resurrection.

60. 2. That He does not immediately call people to account in this world, but has appointed a specific day for it. Or it means that He gives worldly blessings to all, without distinction between believer and disbeliever. Or these things are beneficial and necessary for humans, so He has declared them lawful and permissible, and has not made them unlawful.

60. 3. That is, they do not show gratitude for Allah's blessings, or they declare as unlawful the things He has made lawful.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

60. And what do those who fabricate lies against Allah think about the Day of Resurrection [75]? Surely, Allah is Most Gracious to all people, but most of them do not give thanks.

[75] That is, how will those who declare things lawful and unlawful be treated on the Day of Resurrection? Have these fabricators ever reflected on the beating they will receive and the painful punishment they will have to endure on that Day? Allah is indeed very merciful to people, for He has always informed them of the consequences of every good and bad deed. But instead of being grateful to Allah for this kindness, people violate His limits and then attribute these actions to His name.
