Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

The literal meaning of {قُلْ اَرَءَيْتُمْ اِنْ اَتٰىكُمْ عَذَابُهٗ …:’’ اَرَءَيْتُمْ ‘‘} is "Have you seen," but the Arabs mean by it {’’اَخْبِرُوْنِيْ‘‘}, that is, if you have seen, then tell. {’’ بَيَاتًا ‘‘} means at night, the house is called { ’’ بَيْتٌ ‘‘} for this reason, that a person spends the night there. This is the second answer to their question {’’ مَتٰي هٰذَا الْوَعْدُ ‘‘}, that is, if, for the sake of argument, the punishment comes suddenly at night while sleeping or during the busyness of the day, then what is that sweet and pleasant thing for which the criminals are demanding hastily? It is, in fact, an extremely bitter and unbearable thing; after its arrival, believing will not be beneficial, and in the Hereafter, eternal punishment is before them. So, when this is the case, why are they hastening its arrival?

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

50. 1. That is, punishment is indeed a highly detestable thing from which hearts feel aversion and natures deny it, then what goodness do they see in it and why do they seek it hastily?

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

Say to them: Have you considered, if Allah’s punishment should come upon you by night or by day, what is it that the criminals are impatient for?

[66] That is, what kind of pleasure and delight is there in the coming of the punishment that the criminals are demanding it to come quickly? Or it means that it is astonishing that the criminals are hastening for such a dreadful thing, whereas it would have been appropriate for a criminal to tremble at the thought of the punishment he is to receive and to perish out of fear. And it can also mean that when Allah's punishment comes, what defense will these people be able to quickly make? This is the third answer for those who demand the punishment.
