To Him is the return of all of you. The Promise of Allâh is true. It is He Who begins the creation and then will repeat it, that He may reward with justice those who believed (in the Oneness of Allâh - Islâmic Monotheism) and did deeds of righteousness. But those who disbelieved will have a drink of boiling fluids and painful torment because they used to disbelieve.

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 4){اِلَيْهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيْعًا …:} In this, there is mention of the Day of Judgment, that is, the resurrection of all people and their presentation before Allah. This is Allah’s firm and true promise because in this world, the reward and punishment of the righteous and the wicked is neither necessary nor possible, nor is the required opportunity available here for it. Therefore, Allah, in every case, fulfilling His true promise, will resurrect you and give the believers their reward with justice and will give the disbelievers the recompense for their disbelief. If anyone considers this impossible, then let him reflect that the One who creates you in the first place, that is, brings you into existence from non-existence, is it difficult for Him to give you life again after your death? See also Surah Ar-Rum (27) {’’ حَمِيْمٍ ‘‘} That water which has reached the extreme of heat. See Surah Ar-Rahman (44) and Surah Muhammad (15).

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

4. 1. In this verse, the occurrence of the Day of Judgment, the presence of everyone in the Divine Court, and the mention of reward and punishment are described. This subject has been mentioned in various styles at numerous places in the Noble Quran.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

4. To Him you will all return. This is Allah’s true promise. He originates creation and then will repeat it [6], so that He may justly reward those who believe and do righteous deeds. But those who disbelieve will have boiling water to drink and a painful punishment, as a recompense for their persistent denial of the truth.

The Purpose of the Hereafter:

The first argument was related to Allah being the Owner and Sovereign, and this second argument pertains to the resurrection and gathering of the second life. The argument is that the Allah who created you the first time can surely create you again after death; in fact, recreating you is even easier for Him than the first creation. The purpose of resurrecting you is so that whoever believed and did good deeds in this transient world may be rewarded for it, and those who chose the path of disbelief may be recompensed for it. This is because in this world, it is neither necessary that a person is rewarded for his faith, nor is the life of this world long enough for the full recompense of deeds to be given. Therefore, the establishment of the second life is inevitable.
