Muhammad bin Bashar says: Likewise, Yahya bin Saeed mentioned this narration several times through Sufyan and Shubah, not just once, and both of them narrated it with the chain «عن علقمة بن مرثد عن سعد بن عبيدة عن أبي عبدالرحمٰن عن عثمان عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم».
- Muhammad bin Bashar says: The companions of Sufyan do not mention «عن سفيان عن سعد بن عبيدة» in this narration. Muhammad bin Bashar says: And this is more correct.
- Shubah has added Saad bin Ubaidah in the chain of this hadith, so the hadith of Sufyan (who are contemporaries of Shubah) is more correct. Ali bin Abdullah (Ibn al-Madini) says: Yahya bin Saeed said that in my view, there is no one (trustworthy) equal to Shubah. And when Sufyan disagrees with him, I accept Sufyan’s statement.
- I heard Abu Ammar mentioning through Wakee’: Shubah said: Sufyan has a stronger memory than me. (And the proof of this is that) Sufyan narrated something to me from a person, so I asked that person (directly) about it, and I found it exactly as Sufyan had narrated to me.
- In this chapter, there are also ahadith from Ali and Saad.
