Hadith 2824
وَهَكَذَا رَوَى لَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، وَحَمْزَةَ ، ابْنَيْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِمَا ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
This hadith was narrated to us by Ibn Abi Umar from Sufyan bin ‘Uyaynah, from Zuhri, Zuhri from the two sons of Abdullah bin ‘Umar, Salim and Hamzah, and both of them from their father Abdullah, and Abdullah bin ‘Umar from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِنَحْوِهِ ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ فِيهِ سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ حَمْزَةَ ، وَرِوَايَةُ سَعِيدٍ أَصَحُّ ، لِأَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ الْمَدِينِيِّ ، وَالْحُمَيْدِيَّ رَوَيَا عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، وَذَكَرَا عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : لَمْ يَرْوِ لَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ إِلَّا عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، وَرَوَى مَالِكٌ بْنُ أَنَسٍ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، وَقَالَ : عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، وَحَمْزَةَ ابْنَيْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِمَا ، وَفِي الْبَابِ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، وَعَائِشَةَ ، وَأَنَسٍ ، وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " إِنْ كَانَ الشُّؤْمُ فِي شَيْءٍ فَفِي الْمَرْأَةِ وَالدَّابَّةِ وَالْمَسْكَنِ " .
‘And Saeed bin Abdur Rahman narrated to us, he says: Sufyan narrated to us: Sufyan from Zuhri, Zuhri from Salim, and Salim from his father Abdullah bin Umar from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).’ © Imam Tirmidhi says: 1- Saeed bin Abdur Rahman did not mention «عن حمزة» in this hadith; Saeed’s narration is «اصح» (more authentic) because both Ali ibn Madini and Humaydi narrated from Sufyan, Sufyan from Zuhri, Zuhri from Salim from his father (Abdullah bin Umar). Both of them narrated from Sufyan that he said: This hadith was narrated to us by Zuhri only from Salim, and Salim narrated from (his father) Ibn Umar,
2- Malik, while narrating this hadith from Zuhri, said «عن سالم وحمزة ابني عبد الله بن عمر عن أبيهما»,
3- In this chapter, there are also ahadith from Sahl bin Sa’d, Aisha, and Anas (may Allah be pleased with them),
4- It is also narrated from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that he said: “If there were any bad omen in anything, it would be in a woman, an animal, and a house.” 1.
2- Malik, while narrating this hadith from Zuhri, said «عن سالم وحمزة ابني عبد الله بن عمر عن أبيهما»,

وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، قَال : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَا شُؤْمَ ، وَقَدْ يَكُونُ الْيُمْنُ فِي الدَّارِ ، وَالْمَرْأَةِ ، وَالْفَرَسِ " ، حَدَّثَنَا بِذَلِكَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ جَابِرٍ الطَّائِيِّ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ حَكِيمِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِهَذَا .
Hakim bin Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: (There is) no bad omen in anything, and goodness and blessing are in the house, the woman, and the horse. This narration has been reported to us by Ali bin Hujr, who said: Ismail bin Ayash narrated to us, and Ismail from Salman, Sulaiman bin Salim from Yahya bin Jabir Tai, Yahya from Muawiyah bin Hakim, and Muawiyah from his uncle Hakim bin Muawiyah, who narrated this same hadith from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، وَحَمْزَةَ، ابني عبد الله بن عمر ، عَنْ أَبِيهِمَا، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الشُّؤْمُ فِي ثَلَاثَةٍ : فِي الْمَرْأَةِ ، وَالْمَسْكَنِ ، وَالدَّابَّةِ " ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ، وَبَعْضُ أَصْحَابِ الزُّهْرِيِّ لَا يَذْكُرُونَ فِيهِ عَنْ حَمْزَةَ ، إِنَّمَا يَقُولُونَ عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
Narrated from Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There is bad luck in three things: (1) in a woman, (2) in a house, and (3) in an animal (horse)." 1. © Imam Tirmidhi says:

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، وَحَمْزَةَ، ابني عبد الله بن عمر ، عَنْ أَبِيهِمَا، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الشُّؤْمُ فِي ثَلَاثَةٍ : فِي الْمَرْأَةِ ، وَالْمَسْكَنِ ، وَالدَّابَّةِ " ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ، وَبَعْضُ أَصْحَابِ الزُّهْرِيِّ لَا يَذْكُرُونَ فِيهِ عَنْ حَمْزَةَ ، إِنَّمَا يَقُولُونَ عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
Narrated from Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There is bad luck in three things: (1) in a woman, (2) in a house, and (3) in an animal (horse)." 1. © Imam Tirmidhi says:

وَهَكَذَا رَوَى لَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، وَحَمْزَةَ ، ابْنَيْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِمَا ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
This hadith was narrated to us by Ibn Abi Umar from Sufyan bin ‘Uyaynah, from Zuhri, Zuhri from the two sons of Abdullah bin ‘Umar, Salim and Hamzah, and both of them from their father Abdullah, and Abdullah bin ‘Umar from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِنَحْوِهِ ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ فِيهِ سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ حَمْزَةَ ، وَرِوَايَةُ سَعِيدٍ أَصَحُّ ، لِأَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ الْمَدِينِيِّ ، وَالْحُمَيْدِيَّ رَوَيَا عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، وَذَكَرَا عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : لَمْ يَرْوِ لَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ إِلَّا عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، وَرَوَى مَالِكٌ بْنُ أَنَسٍ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، وَقَالَ : عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، وَحَمْزَةَ ابْنَيْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِمَا ، وَفِي الْبَابِ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، وَعَائِشَةَ ، وَأَنَسٍ ، وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " إِنْ كَانَ الشُّؤْمُ فِي شَيْءٍ فَفِي الْمَرْأَةِ وَالدَّابَّةِ وَالْمَسْكَنِ " .
‘And Saeed bin Abdur Rahman narrated to us, he says: Sufyan narrated to us: Sufyan from Zuhri, Zuhri from Salim, and Salim from his father Abdullah bin Umar from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).’ © Imam Tirmidhi says: 1- Saeed bin Abdur Rahman did not mention «عن حمزة» in this hadith; Saeed’s narration is «اصح» (more authentic) because both Ali ibn Madini and Humaydi narrated from Sufyan, Sufyan from Zuhri, Zuhri from Salim from his father (Abdullah bin Umar). Both of them narrated from Sufyan that he said: This hadith was narrated to us by Zuhri only from Salim, and Salim narrated from (his father) Ibn Umar,
2- Malik, while narrating this hadith from Zuhri, said «عن سالم وحمزة ابني عبد الله بن عمر عن أبيهما»,
3- In this chapter, there are also ahadith from Sahl bin Sa’d, Aisha, and Anas (may Allah be pleased with them),

وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، قَال : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَا شُؤْمَ ، وَقَدْ يَكُونُ الْيُمْنُ فِي الدَّارِ ، وَالْمَرْأَةِ ، وَالْفَرَسِ " ، حَدَّثَنَا بِذَلِكَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ جَابِرٍ الطَّائِيِّ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ حَكِيمِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِهَذَا .
Hakim bin Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: (There is) no bad omen in anything, and goodness and blessing are in the house, the woman, and the horse. This narration has been reported to us by Ali bin Hujr, who said: Ismail bin Ayash narrated to us, and Ismail from Salman, Sulaiman bin Salim from Yahya bin Jabir Tai, Yahya from Muawiyah bin Hakim, and Muawiyah from his uncle Hakim bin Muawiyah, who narrated this same hadith from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
