باب مَا جَاءَ مِنَ الْفَضْلِ فِي رِضَا الْوَالِدَيْنِ

Hadith 1899
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ الْهُجَيْمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَاهُ ، فَقَالَ : إِنّ لِيَ امْرَأَةً ، وَإِنَّ أُمِّي تَأْمُرُنِي بِطَلَاقِهَا ، قَالَ أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " الْوَالِدُ أَوْسَطُ أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ فَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَأَضِعْ ذَلِكَ الْبَابَ أَوِ احْفَظْهُ " ، قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ سُفْيَانُ : إِنَّ أُمِّي ، وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ أَبِي ، وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ ، وَأَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيُّ اسْمُهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ .
Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a man came to him and said: "I have a wife, and my mother is ordering me to divorce her. (What should I do?)" Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'The father is the middle gate of Paradise; if you wish, neglect this gate, and if you wish, protect it.'" 1. Sufyan bin ‘Uyaynah sometimes said «إن امی» (my mother) and sometimes «إن أبی» (my father). © Imam Tirmidhi says: This hadith is authentic.
Hadith 1900
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو نَحْوَهُ ، وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ ، وَهَذَا أَصَحُّ ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : وَهَكَذَا رَوَى أَصْحَابُ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو مَوْقُوفًا ، وَلَا نَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا رَفَعَهُ غَيْرَ خَالِدِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، وَخَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ثقة مأمون ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ الْمُثَنَّى ، يَقُولُ : مَا رَأَيْتُ بِالْبَصْرَةِ مِثْلَ خَالِدِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، وَلَا بِالْكُوفَةِ مِثْلَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ إِدْرِيسَ ، قَالَ : وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ .
‘With this chain,’ a similar hadith is narrated from Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) (as a mawquf narration). Shu’bah did not narrate it as marfu‘, and this is more authentic. © Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- The students of Shu’bah have narrated it mawqufan with the chain of «عن شعبة عن يعلى بن عطاء عن أبيه عن عبد الله بن عمرو», and we do not know anyone except Khalid bin Harith who has narrated this hadith as marfu‘ from Shu’bah.
2- Khalid bin Harith is trustworthy and reliable. It is said: I have not seen anyone like Khalid bin Harith in Basra, nor anyone like Abdullah bin Idris in Kufa.
3- There is also a narration from Ibn Mas‘ud in this chapter.
1- The students of Shu’bah have narrated it mawqufan with the chain of «عن شعبة عن يعلى بن عطاء عن أبيه عن عبد الله بن عمرو», and we do not know anyone except Khalid bin Harith who has narrated this hadith as marfu‘ from Shu’bah.
2- Khalid bin Harith is trustworthy and reliable. It is said: I have not seen anyone like Khalid bin Harith in Basra, nor anyone like Abdullah bin Idris in Kufa.
3- There is also a narration from Ibn Mas‘ud in this chapter.
