Zadhan says: I asked Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) about those vessels which you have forbidden, and said: Explain it in your language and clarify it in our language. He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade «حنتمة», and that is the earthen jar; he forbade «دباء», and that is the gourd vessel; he forbade «نقير», and that is the root of the date-palm which is hollowed out or turned on a lathe to make a vessel; he forbade «مزفت», and that is a vessel coated with pitch (lacquered); and he commanded that nabidh be prepared in water-skins. 1. Imam Tirmidhi says: 1- This hadith is hasan sahih (good and authentic), 2- In this chapter, hadiths have also been narrated from Umar, Ali, Ibn Abbas, Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, Abu Hurairah, Abdur Rahman bin Ya'mar, Samurah, Anas, Aisha, Imran bin Husain, Aidh bin Amr, Hakam Ghifari, and Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with them all).
