Hadith 1832
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فَضَاءٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُزَنِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا اشْتَرَى أَحَدُكُمْ لَحْمًا فَلْيُكْثِرْ مَرَقَتَهُ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ لَحْمًا أَصَابَ مَرَقَةً وَهُوَ أَحَدُ اللَّحْمَيْنِ " ، وَفِي الْبَاب : عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ فَضَاءٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فَضَاءٍ هُوَ الْمُعَبِّرُ وَقَدْ تَكَلَّمَ فِيهِ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، وَعَلْقَمَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ هُوَ أَخُو بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُزَنِيُّ .
‘Abdullah Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “When any of you buys meat, let him increase the broth (gravy) in it (while cooking), for if he cannot get the meat, he will get the broth; that too is one of the two meats.” © Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- There is also a narration from Abu Dharr in this chapter,
2- We know it only from this chain through the narration of Muhammad bin Fada’, Muhammad bin Fada’ «معبر» (i.e., interpreter of dreams), about whom Sulaiman bin Harb has spoken,

Hadith 1833
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعَنْقَزِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ رُسْتُمَ أَبِي عَامِرٍ الْخَزَّازِ، عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَحْقِرَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ شَيْئًا مِنَ الْمَعْرُوفِ ، وَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ فَلْيَلْقَ أَخَاهُ بِوَجْهٍ طَلِيقٍ ، وَإِنِ اشْتَرَيْتَ لَحْمًا أَوْ طَبَخْتَ قِدْرًا فَأَكْثِرْ مَرَقَتَهُ وَاغْرِفْ لِجَارِكَ مِنْهُ " ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ .
Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "None of you should consider any good deed insignificant, even if you meet your brother with a smiling face 1. And if you buy meat or cook a stew, then increase its broth and give a ladleful of it to your neighbor." © Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith is hasan sahih (good and authentic),
2- Shu’bah has also narrated it from Abu Imran al-Juni.
