Hadith 1821
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا
أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ
أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ الْعَبْدِيِّ ، عَنْ
عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْجَرَادِ فَقَالَ : " غَزَوْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سِتَّ غَزَوَاتٍ نَأْكُلُ الْجَرَادَ " قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَكَذَا رَوَى سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ ، وَقَالَ سِتَّ غَزَوَاتٍ ، وَرَوَى سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ ، عَنْ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ ، فَقَالَ : سَبْعَ غَزَوَاتٍ .
´It is narrated from Abdullah bin Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) that` he was asked about locusts, so he said: I participated in six battles with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and we used to eat locusts. © Imam Tirmidhi says: 1- This hadith has been narrated by Sufyan bin ‘Uyaynah from Abu Ya’fur in the same way, and he said: “Participated in six battles,” 2- And Sufyan Thawri and several others have narrated this hadith from Abu Ya’fur and said: “Participated in seven battles.”
Hadith 1822
حَدَّثَنَا بِذَلِكَ
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا
شُعْبَةُ بِهَذَا ، قَالَ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، وَجَابِرٍ ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَأَبُو يَعْفُورٍ اسْمُهُ وَاقِدٌ وَيُقَالُ : وَقْدَانُ أَيْضًا وَأَبُو يَعْفُورٍ الْآخَرُ اسْمُهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ نِسْطَاسَ .
`With this chain as well, a similar hadith is narrated from Ibn Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him).` © Imam Tirmidhi says: 1- This hadith is Hasan Sahih (good and authentic), 2- Abu Ya’fur’s name is Waqid, he is also called Waqdan. There is another Abu Ya’fur, whose name is Abdur Rahman bin Ubaid bin Nistas, 3- In this chapter, hadiths have also been narrated from Ibn Umar and Jabir (may Allah be pleased with them).
Ibn Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We participated in seven battles with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and ate locusts. Imam Tirmidhi says: 1- Shu’bah has also narrated it from Abu Ya’fur, from Ibn Abi Awfa, who said: I participated in several battles with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and ate locusts.

Ibn Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We participated in seven battles with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and ate locusts. Imam Tirmidhi says: 1- Shu’bah has also narrated it from Abu Ya’fur, from Ibn Abi Awfa, who said: I participated in several battles with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and ate locusts.
