Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) (after migration) stayed at the house of Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him). Whenever he ate food, he would send a portion of it to Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him). One day, he sent back the (entire) food (untouched); the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had not eaten any of it. When Abu Ayyub came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and mentioned this to him, he said: "Does it have garlic in it?" He asked: "O Messenger of Allah! Is it forbidden?" He replied: "No, but because of its smell, I dislike it." © Imam Tirmidhi says: This hadith is Hasan Sahih.
