Hadith 1695
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ الْهَاشِمِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا شَيْبَانُ يعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يُمْنُ الْخَيْلِ فِي الشُّقْرِ " ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ ، لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ شَيْبَانَ .
'Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There is blessing in red-colored horses." © Imam Tirmidhi says: This hadith is hasan ghareeb; we know it from this chain only through the narration of Shayban.
Hadith 1696
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " خَيْرُ الْخَيْلِ : الْأَدْهَمُ الْأَقْرَحُ الْأَرْثَمُ ، ثُمَّ الْأَقْرَحُ الْمُحَجَّلُ طَلْقُ الْيَمِينِ ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ أَدْهَمَ ، فَكُمَيْتٌ عَلَى هَذِهِ الشِّيَةِ " .
It is narrated from Abu Qatadah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The best horses are those that are black in color, with a white forehead and upper lip. After them are those horses whose four legs and forehead are white. If the horse is not black, then the best is a reddish, dark, excellent horse with these same qualities."
Hadith 1697
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ نَحْوَهُ بِمَعْنَاهُ ، قَالَ : أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ صَحِيحٌ .
‘From Yazid bin Abi Habib, with the same chain, a hadith of similar meaning and wording is narrated. © Imam Tirmidhi says:
This hadith is hasan, gharib, and sahih.’
