Rafi’ bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We were on a journey with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Some hasty people went ahead and quickly took (food items) from the spoils and began to cook them (before distribution). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was with those who were coming behind. When he passed by the pots, he ordered them to be overturned, and so they were overturned. Then he distributed the spoils among them. He considered one camel to be equal to ten goats 1. © Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- Sufyan Thawri narrated this hadith via: «عن أبيه سعيد ، عن عباية ، عن جده رافع بن خديج», and in this chain, ‘Ubayyah did not mention his father as an intermediary. © Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith was narrated to us by Mahmood bin Ghailan, who said: Waki’ narrated to us, and Waki’ narrates from Sufyan. This narration is more authentic; the hearing of ‘Ubayyah bin Rifa’ah from his grandfather Rafi’ bin Khadij is established.
2- In this chapter, hadiths have also been narrated from Thalabah bin Hakam, Anas, Abu Rayhanah, Abu Darda’, Abdur Rahman bin Samurah, Zaid bin Khalid, Jabir, Abu Hurairah, and Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with them).
Hadith 1601
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever commits looting is not one of us." 1. © Imam Tirmidhi says:
This hadith from the narration of Anas is Hasan Sahih Gharib.
