Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade the price of a dog and a cat. © Imam Tirmidhi says: 1- There is confusion in the chain of this hadith. Regarding the price of a cat, this is not authentic, 2- This hadith is narrated from A’mash, who narrated from some of his companions, and he from Jabir; these people are confused in narrating this hadith from A’mash, 3- And Ibn Fadl has narrated it through another chain by way of: «الأعمش ، عن أبي حازم ، عن أبي هريرة ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم» , 4- A group of scholars have declared the price of a cat to be impermissible, 5- And some people have allowed it; this is also the opinion of Ahmad and Ishaq bin Rahwayh.
