Hadith 1227
It is narrated with the same chain that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) forbade the selling of ears of wheat and barley, etc., until they become ripe and safe from calamity. He forbade both the seller and the buyer.

1- The hadith of Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) is Hasan Sahih.
2- In this chapter, hadiths have also been narrated from Anas, Aisha, Abu Hurairah, Ibn Abbas, Jabir, Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri, and Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with them all).
3- The scholars among the Companions acted upon this. They considered it disliked to sell fruit before its ripeness becomes apparent. This is also the opinion of Shafi'i, Ahmad, and Ishaq bin Rahwayh.
Hadith 1228
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling grapes until they become black (ripe), and forbade selling grain until it becomes hard. © Imam Tirmidhi says:
This hadith is Hasan Gharib. We know it as being Marfu‘ only through the narration of Hammad bin Salamah.
