Hadith 1221
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade going out to meet merchandise coming from outside and buying it before it reaches the market: if someone has bought it in this way, then when the owner brings it to the market, he has the choice (whether he wants to sell it or not). 1. © Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith, through the narration of Ayyub, is Hasan Gharib,
2- The hadith of Ibn Mas'ud is Hasan Sahih. A group of scholars have declared it impermissible to buy goods from sellers before they reach the market; this is a kind of deception. Among our companions, this is also the view of Shafi'i and others.
