´Amr bin Aws narrated from Abdur-Rahman bin Abi Bakr:` "The Prophet ordered Abdur-RAhman bin Abi Bakr to (accompany) Aishah to perform Umrah from At-Tan'im."
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Dr. Abdur Rahman Freywai
English Commentary: 1؎ :
Taneem is the name of a well-known place outside of Makkah, which is located four miles from Makkah in the direction of Madinah.
For performing ‘umrah, the miqat (designated boundary) for the people of Makkah is the area of hill (the area outside the sacred precincts of Makkah).
And since Taneem is the closest hill, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam instructed Aisha radi Allahu anha to assume ihram from Taneem.
And this ‘umrah was in compensation for the ‘umrah which she was unable to perform before Hajj due to the onset of menstruation (hayd).
From this, no evidence can be derived for the current practice of performing multiple ‘umrahs after Hajj.

Hadith Commentary:
On this occasion, Abdur Rahman ibn Abi Bakr (radi Allahu anhu) seated his honorable sister, Aisha (radi Allahu anha), behind him on the mount.
From this, the objective of the chapter is established.
Further detail is also mentioned in the first hadith.

Hadith Commentary:
➊
These hadiths explicitly state that Abdur Rahman (radi Allahu anhu) seated his sister, the Mother of the Believers, Aisha (radi Allahu anha), behind him on the mount.
Although this journey was related to Hajj, the journey of jihad can also be analogized to it.
In addition, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
“The jihad of women is to perform Hajj.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, al-Jihad, Hadith: 2875, 2876)
Thus, even without analogy, the issue mentioned in the heading can be established.
➋
In both travel and residence, seclusion (khalwah) with a mahram is permissible, and any woman may travel with her mahram, whether it is a journey for Hajj, Umrah, or jihad. She may also sit on a mount with her mahram.
Since such incidents frequently occur during travel, Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) has mentioned them.
Many of the upcoming headings are of this same category.

Hadith Commentary:
➊
In one hadith, it is mentioned that Aisha (radi Allahu anha) said to the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam):
"O Messenger of Allah! Your companions are returning with the reward of both Hajj and Umrah, whereas I have performed only Hajj and not Umrah." So he (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said to me:
"Go with your brother Abdur-Rahman (radi Allahu anhu) to the place of Tan‘im, and from there enter into the state of ihram for Umrah and complete it."
He (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) waited for her in the upper part of Makkah.
(Sahih al-Bukhari, al-Jihad, Hadith: 2984) (2)
From this hadith, it is understood that if the people of Makkah wish to perform Umrah, they must go outside the Haram and enter into ihram from the "Hil" (area outside the Haram).
The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) instructed Aisha (radi Allahu anha) to enter into ihram for Umrah from the place of Tan‘im because, compared to other locations, this place is closer to Makkah.
And Allah knows best.

1995. Commentary:
➊ Taneem is the nearest location at a distance of six miles from Makkah, and nowadays it is part of the city's population. It is a well-known station by the name of Masjid Aisha.
➋ Allamah al-Albani rahimahullah states that in this narration, the last part (fa idha habatta) — "when you take it and descend from the hill" — is not authentic.

Benefit:
From this hadith, it is established that due to an excuse, it is permissible to enter into ihram from Taneem. At the location of Taneem, now Masjid Aisha has been built. Some people go to Masjid Aisha daily and, after entering into ihram, perform ‘umrah. This is completely incorrect.
