Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Prophet ﷺ said: A person who performs Umrah should shout talbiyah till he touches the Black Stone. Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been transmitted by Abd al-Malik bin Abi Sulaiman and Hammam from Ata on the authority of Ibn Abbas as his own statement (i. e. the tradition was not attributed to the Prophet)

1817. Commentary: This narration is not marfu‘ but rather mawquf, and it is authentic in this form. The ruling and practice are based on this: in ‘umrah, the talbiyah continues until the touching (istilam) of the Black Stone (Hajar al-Aswad); after that, it is not recited.
