حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْأَشَجُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْأَجْلَحِ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " صَلَّى بِمِنًى الظُّهْرَ وَالْفَجْرَ ، ثُمَّ غَدَا إِلَى عَرَفَاتٍ " . قَالَ : وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، وَأَنَسٍ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : حَدِيثُ مِقْسَمٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ : قَالَ يَحْيَى : قَالَ شُعْبَةُ : لَمْ يَسْمَعْ الْحَكَمُ مِنْ مِقْسَمٍ إِلَّا خَمْسَةَ أَشْيَاءَ وَعَدَّهَا ، وَلَيْسَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ فِيمَا عَدَّ شُعْبَةُ .
´Al-Hakam reported from Miqsam, that Ibn Abbas narrated:` That the Prophet prayed Zuhr and Fajr in Mina, then he left in the morning to Arafat.

Commentary: 1 ʾ:
That is:
He performed (the prayers) from Dhuhr until Fajr.
Dhuhr,
and ‘Asr combined and shortened (qasr),
then Maghrib and ‘Isha combined and shortened (qasr).
2ʾ:
That is, on the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah, immediately after the sun had risen.

English Commentary:
1:
Mina:
Mina is the name of an open plain consisting of several valleys situated between Makkah and Muzdalifah. On its eastern side, its boundary is the low-lying valley encountered when descending from Wadi Muhassir, and on the western side is Jamrat al-Aqabah.
2:
Yawm al-Tarwiyah, that is, the 8th of Dhu al-Hijjah.
3:
That is, after the sun has risen.

(There is scholarly criticism regarding Isma'il ibn Muslim in the chain of narration, but due to supporting narrations and corroborating evidence, this hadith is considered sahih li ghayrihi [authentic due to external supporting evidence].)

Benefit:
The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) departed from Mina towards Arafat after the sun had risen and stopped at the place of Namirah.
When the sun had declined, he departed from Namirah and proceeded to Arafat. (Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 3074)
