Commentary:
1:
It is more apparent that this should be understood upon its reality, because there is nothing, either rationally or textually, that prevents this. Some people have said that the intent behind this is to emphasize the veneration of the Black Stone (Hajar al-Aswad) and to illustrate the gravity of sins.

English Translation:
The Black Stone (Hajar Aswad) is installed in the eastern corner of the Ka‘bah. The apparent wording indicates that this stone was brought from Paradise, and it is not far-fetched that Allah, the Exalted, could send something from Paradise here. In some ahadith, it is mentioned that initially this stone was whiter than milk, but the sins of people turned it black. (Sahih al-Jami‘ al-Saghir wa Ziyadatuhu, Hadith: 4449) The changing of color is so common in this universe that to deny it would be foolishness. By “sins” are meant the misdeeds, that is, it became black due to the sins of those who kissed it and touched it. Allah, the Exalted, has said: ﴿يَوْمَ تَبْيَضُّ وُجُوهٌ وَتَسْوَدُّ وُجُوهٌ﴾ () “On that (Day of Resurrection), some faces (of the righteous) will be white and some (of the wicked) will be black.”
