Hadith 869

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُصْعَبٍ الْمَدَنِيُّ قِرَاءَةً ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ عِمْرَانَ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " قَرَأَ فِي رَكْعَتَيِ الطَّوَافِ : بِسُورَتَيْ الْإِخْلَاصِ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ " .
´Jabir bin Abdullah narrated:` During the two Rak'ah of Tawaf, the Messenger of Allah recited the two Surat of Ikhlas, "Say: O you disbelievers!" and: "Say: He is Allah, (the) One."

English Commentary:
1:
﴿قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ﴾ has been referred to as Surah Ikhlas by way of predominance.
Note:
(This hadith is considered sahih li-ghayrihi (authentic due to supporting evidence) because it is strengthened by the lengthy hadith narrated in Sahih Muslim through the chain of Ja'far al-Sadiq. Otherwise, in the author’s chain, there is 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn 'Imran, who is a narrator whose hadith is abandoned.)
