Brief Explanation
1؎: Because Sa‘id ibn al-Musayyib did not hear anything from Safwan ibn Umayyah, and a narrator only says “so-and-so from so-and-so” when he has actually heard something from him, even if it is only a single hadith. (In Sahih Muslim, it is «أن صفوان قال».) The statement of Imam Shafi‘i is acceptable and actionable.
