Hadith 664

حَدَّثَنَا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ مُكْرَمٍ الْعَمِّيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عِيسَى الْخَزَّارُ الْبَصْرِيُّ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الصَّدَقَةَ لَتُطْفِئُ غَضَبَ الرَّبِّ وَتَدْفَعُ عَنْ مِيتَةِ السُّوءِ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ .
´Anas bin Malik narrated that :` the Messenger of Allah said: "Indeed charity extinguishes the Lord's anger and it protects against the evil death."

(The first portion of the hadith is authentic.) (In the chain, Hasan al-Basri is a mudallis and the narration is in the form of ‘an‘anah, and Abdullah ibn ‘Isa al-Khazzar is weak, but authentic supporting narrations for the first portion exist. See al-Silsilah al-Sahihah no. 1908.)
