حَدَّثَنَا
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا
أَبُو دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا
جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ، عَنْ
ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ
أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ : " كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُكَلَّمُ بِالْحَاجَةِ إِذَا نَزَلَ عَنِ الْمِنْبَرِ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ جَرِيرِ بْنِ حَازِمٍ . قَالَ : وسَمِعْت مُحَمَّدًا ، يَقُولُ : وَهِمَ جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ ، وَالصَّحِيحُ مَا رُوِيَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَأَخَذَ رَجُلٌ بِيَدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَمَا زَالَ يُكَلِّمُهُ حَتَّى نَعَسَ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ " . قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ : وَالْحَدِيثُ هُوَ هَذَا . وَجَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ رُبَّمَا يَهِمُ فِي الشَّيْءِ ، وَهُوَ صَدُوقٌ ، قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ : وَهِمَ جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ فِي حَدِيثِ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَلَا تَقُومُوا حَتَّى تَرَوْنِي " . قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ : وَيُرْوَى عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا عِنْدَ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ فَحَدَّثَ حَجَّاجٌ ، الصَّوَّافُ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَلَا تَقُومُوا حَتَّى تَرَوْنِي " فَوَهِمَ جَرِيرٌ فَظَنَّ أَنَّ ثَابِتًا حَدَّثَهُمْ عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
´Anas bin Malik narrated:` "Allah's Messenger would talk as necessary after descending from the Minbar."

(Jarir was mistaken; the incident pertains to the night (‘Isha) prayer, not the Friday (Jumu‘ah) prayer, as is evident in Hadith number 370 of Sahih Muslim.)

Benefit:
The aforementioned narration is weak in its chain of transmission.
However, an incident of this type, in which it is mentioned that during the sermon (khutbah), the sermon was left and conversation took place with a questioner, is found in Sahih Muslim (al-Jumu‘ah, Hadith: 876).
In addition, a similar incident occurred on the occasion of a prayer as well, as is found in Jami‘ at-Tirmidhi.
When the call for the commencement of prayer (iqamah) was given, a person took hold of the hand of the Noble Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and began speaking with him, until some people began to doze off (Jami‘ at-Tirmidhi, Hadith: 518).
Therefore, the ruling is as follows: if the imam or any person wishes to say something necessary, there is no harm in it, but the congregation should not be caused any discomfort.
