Hadith Commentary:
Hafiz Ibn Hajar rahimahullah said that it is not known who this narrator named Abdulhamid is. Al-Mizzi said that this is the well-known Hafiz Abd bin Humaid, but when I searched for this hadith in both his Tafsir and Musnad, I did not find it. However, Al-Darimi has narrated it, from Uthman bin Umar, with the same chain of narration to the end.

Benefits and Issues:
In this hadith, Sayyiduna Tamim Dari radi Allahu anhu has used the word «عظام» figuratively for the blessed body of the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
For this reason, the hadith scholar Al-Albani rahimahullah writes:
«فعلمت منه أنهم كانوا يطلقون ”العظام“، ويريدون البدن كله، من باب إطلاق الجزء وإرادة الكل، كقوله تعالى * (وقرآن الفجر) * أي: صلاة الفجر. فزال الإشكال والحمد لله»
“It has become clear to me from this hadith that the Arabs, by saying the word «عظام», intend the entire body. This is an example of mentioning a part but intending the whole, just as in the statement of Allah the Exalted: «وَقُرْآنَ الْفَجْرِ» [17-الإسراء:78] — here, ‘the Qur’an of Fajr’ refers to the Fajr prayer. All praise is due to Allah, the confusion has been resolved.” [سلسلة الاحاديث الصحيحة للالباني: 313]

1081. Commentary:
It has been mentioned earlier that this wooden pulpit (minbar) was made by a slave, and in this narration it is stated that Tamim Dari made it. Hafiz Ibn Hajar rahimahullah, while clarifying these hadiths, has considered the first narration to be stronger. He has also presented the possibility that all of them, in one way or another, participated in its construction. Furthermore, in this narration it is mentioned that the pulpit consisted of two steps, whereas in another narration, three steps are mentioned. The explanation is that the narrator who mentioned two steps did not count the third step upon which the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would sit. For details, see: [فتح الباري والعون]
