Hadith 467

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " بَادِرُوا الصُّبْحَ بِالْوِتْرِ " قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .
´Ibn Umar narrated that :` the Prophet said: "Precede the morning with Al-Witr."

This hadith is evidence that the time for Witr extends until before the break of dawn (Fajr). When Fajr appears, the time for performing Witr has ended.
