Hadith 45

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ مُوسَى الْفَزَارِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ أَبِي صَفِيَّةَ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِأَبِي جَعْفَرٍ : حَدَّثَكَ جَابِرٌ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " تَوَضَّأَ مَرَّةً مَرَّةً , وَمَرَّتَيْنِ مَرَّتَيْنِ , وَثَلَاثًا ثَلَاثًا " , قَالَ : نَعَمْ .
´Thabit bin Abi Safiyyah said, :` "I asked Abu Ja'far: 'Did Jabir narrate to you that: "The Prophet performed Wudu one time each, and two times, and three times?" He said: "Yes."

(In the chain of narration, both Abu Hamzah Thabit bin Abi Safiyyah al-Thumali and Sharik bin Abdullah al-Qadi are weak narrators.
Furthermore, this narration is also contrary to the hadith that will be mentioned ahead,
regarding which Imam Tirmidhi has ruled that it is more authentic than the narration of Sharik.)
