´Narrated Ibn 'Umar:` that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "In Thaqif there is a liar and a destroyer."
‘Abdur Rahman bin Waqid Abu Muslim narrated to us, he said:’
Sharik narrated to us with this same chain in a similar manner, and the kunyah of Abdur Rahman bin Asim is Abu Alwan, and he is a Kufan. © Imam Tirmidhi says:
This hadith is Hasan Gharib; we know it only from the narration of Sharik, and in Sharik’s narration it is ‘Abdullah bin Asim, and Isra’il also narrates from this shaykh, but he says ‘Abdullah bin Asimah instead of ‘Abdullah bin Asim.
3- In this chapter, there is also a narration from Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her).

Explanation:
1:
The fame of Mukhtar bin Abu Ubaid bin Mas’ud al-Thaqafi arose when, after the incident of Husayn, he announced the taking of revenge for his blood solely for the purpose of attracting people to his side and making the path to acquiring leadership (government) easier. Previously, he was very well-known for his knowledge and virtue. Later, however, he expressed his wickedness in such a manner that the corruption of his creed and religion became evident to the people. He was a seeker of leadership and worldly gain. Ultimately, he was killed in 67 AH during the time of Mus’ab bin Zubair radi Allahu anhu.

Hajjaj bin Yusuf al-Thaqafi is proverbial for his oppression, killings, and bloodshed. He was the governor of Abd al-Malik bin Marwan. The tragic incident involving Abdullah bin Zubair radi Allahu anhuma occurred at his hands. He died at the location of Wasit in 75 AH.
