Shaykh Dr. Abdur Rahman Freywai
1:
Because Sharik has opposed Layth and several other people,
and furthermore, Sharik’s memory had become weak and he used to make many mistakes in narration,
whereas, in contrast, Layth ibn Sa'd is extremely trustworthy (thiqah).
Note:
(In the first chain, one narrator is ambiguous,
and there is also severe confusion (idtirab) in this chain,
therefore this chain is weak,
and in the second chain, Sharik al-Qadi is weak,
about whose hadith al-Tirmidhi says that it is not preserved,
but the original narration of this hadith with the chain: Isma'il ibn Umayyah from Sa'id al-Maqburi from Abu Hurayrah, marfu'an, is authentic (Sunan al-Darimi: 1413), and Ibn Khuzaymah authenticated it, and al-Hakim said:
"Authentic according to the conditions of the two (Shaykhs)," and al-Mundhiri said:
"There is some consideration in what he said." For details, see:
al-Irwa' no. 379)
