´Narrated 'Ali:` that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "If I was going to appoint anyone of them as a leader without any consultation, I would appoint Ibn Umm 'Abd over them."

Some commentators have interpreted "khalifah" here as referring to leadership of a particular army or succession in some other matter, but there is no need for such interpretation or figurative explanation here, because this narration itself is weak.
