Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We were sitting with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) when he said: "I do not know how long I will remain among you (i.e., how many days I will live), so follow these two after me" (and he pointed towards Abu Bakr and Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both), "and follow the way of Ammar, and consider whatever Ibn Mas'ud tells you to be true." 1. © Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith is Hasan (good),
2- Ibrahim bin Sa'd has also narrated this hadith, through the route: «سفيان الثوري عن عبد الملك بن عمير عن هلال مولى ربعي عن ربعي عن حذيفة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم» in a similar manner, and Salim Muradi Kufi has narrated it through the route: «عمرو بن هرم عن ربعي ابن حراش عن حذيفة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم» in a similar manner.
´Narrated 'Aishah:` that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Ammar is not given a choice between two matters, except that he chooses the one with more guidance in it."

Commentary:
(1)
In this, there is a clear indication towards the caliphate of the two Shaykhs (radi Allahu anhuma).
(2)
The head of any institution, organization, or group should, through his training, prepare such individuals who can smoothly continue the work after him.
(3)
The prominent individuals of the group should be given importance; however, the determination of the one who will assume the position after the leader will be done only through the consultation of the people of authority and decision (ahl al-hall wa’l-‘aqd).
(4)
The opinion and ijtihad (independent reasoning) of the two Shaykhs is weightier and more valuable than the opinions of other noble Companions and great Imams; rather, it is worthy of being followed.

Benefit:
The noble Companions (radi Allahu anhum) firmly adhered to the Qur'an and Hadith. Any statement of theirs that goes against the Qur'an and Hadith will not be accepted, because the religion is defined by the Qur'an and Hadith.
