´Narrated Hisham bin 'Urwah:` "On the Day of (the battle of) Al-Jamal, Az-Zubair exhorted his son 'Abdullah, saying: 'There is not a part of me except that it has been injured while with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ),' until that ended with his private parts.

He made this bequest because the sacrifices we had made for the dominance of the true religion, and Islam had prevailed over the world as a result of those sacrifices—today, that very strength, power, capability, and sacrifice we are wasting among ourselves. Thus, Zubair radi Allahu anhu withdrew from the Battle of Jamal and turned back towards Makkah (or Madinah Tayyibah), and he was martyred by someone on the way.
