حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ الرُّومِيِّ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ غَفَلَةَ، عَنِ الصُّنَابِحِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَا دَارُ الْحِكْمَةِ وَعَلِيٌّ بَابُهَا " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا غَرِيبٌ مُنْكَرٌ ، وَرَوَى بَعْضُهُمْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَنْ شَرِيكٍ ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرُوا فِيهِ عَنِ الصُّنَابِحِيِّ ، وَلَا نَعْرِفُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَنْ وَاحِدٍ مِنَ الثِّقَاتِ ، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ ، وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ .
´Narrated 'Ali:` that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "I am the house of wisdom, and 'Ali is its door."

(In the chain of narration, Shareek al-Qadhi has weak memory, and except for Shareek, no one has mentioned Sanabihi in the chain. This indicates that there is also a break (inqita‘) in the chain. Ibn al-Jawzi and Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah have declared this hadith to be fabricated (mawdu‘).
Ibn Taymiyyah says: This hadith is weak, rather, according to the experts of hadith, it is fabricated. However, al-Tirmidhi and others have narrated it, even though it is a lie. We have provided a detailed analysis of this hadith in our book (Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah wa Juhuduhu fi al-Hadith wa ‘Ulumihi), hadith number: 376.)
