1؎: «محدث» refers to a person upon whose tongue the truth is inspired by Allah; Jibril (alayhis salam) does not bring revelation (wahy) to him because that person is not a prophet. Rather, Allah places the truth in his heart and mind. In reality, in many matters, Allah affirmed the opinion of Umar (radi Allahu anhu) through revelation (wahy). (See also Hadith no. 3691.)

Explanation: 1: A "muhaddath" is one upon whose tongue the truth is inspired by Allah. Jibril (alayhis salam) does not bring revelation to him, because such a person is not a prophet. Rather, Allah places the truth in his heart and mind. And in reality, in several matters, Allah affirmed the opinion of Umar (radi Allahu anhu) through revelation. (See also Hadith no. 3691)
