´Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah:` that 'Umar said to Abu Bakr: "O best of people after the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)!" So Abu Bakr said: "If you say that, then I have heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: 'The sun has not risen upon a man better than 'Umar.'"

Commentary:
Note:
(In the chain of narration, both Abdur Rahman ibn Akhi Muhammad ibn Munkadir and Abdullah ibn Dawud Abu Muhammad al-Tammar are weak narrators, and neither of them should be followed. Ibn al-Jawzi, al-Dhahabi, and al-Albani have declared this hadith to be fabricated. The greatest evidence of its falsehood is that it is in absolute contradiction to the authentic and established hadith which states that the best upon whom the sun has risen are the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and the other prophets and messengers. After them is Abu Bakr (radi Allahu anhu), as it is mentioned in the hadith: After the prophets and messengers, the sun has not risen or set upon anyone better than Abu Bakr (radi Allahu anhu).
