Hadith Commentary: Benefits and Issues: By "mufrid" or "mufrid" is meant that person whose companions and peers have passed away, and he has been left alone and isolated. "Afrada ar-rajul" is said at the time when, after gaining understanding and insight, a person separates himself in order to devote himself exclusively to the fulfillment and observance of commands and prohibitions. Thus, the meaning is that those people who, by adopting seclusion, avoid gatherings of people and spend their time in the remembrance of Allah—whether they are men or women—have won the contest of reward and recompense, and have attained the great ranks and degrees of Allah’s acceptance and pleasure, and have advanced far ahead.
