Commentary:
Note:
The first phrase of the hadith is authentic,
but the subsequent story is "munkar" (rejected), because in the chain of narration both Yahya ibn al-Yaman and Zayd al-'Ami are weak narrators,
and there is no corroborating evidence for the story,

521. Commentary:
➊ It is understood that this time is extremely precious. One should benefit from it by remaining engaged in prayer, supplication (dua), remembrance (dhikr), and recitation (tilawah). However, it has been observed that people—even the caretakers of mosques—waste this time.
➋ Supplication (dua) is accepted at this time, provided that other etiquettes and conditions are also observed, especially sound creed (aqidah), lawful sustenance (halal rizq), truthfulness in speech, sincerity and complete certainty, etc.

Benefit:
From this hadith, it is understood that the time between the adhan and the iqamah is extremely precious. During this period, supplications (du'a) are accepted, provided that other etiquettes and conditions are also observed—especially soundness of belief ('aqidah), lawful sustenance (rizq halal), truthfulness in speech (sidq maqaal), sincerity (ikhlas), and complete certainty (yaqin), etc. Therefore, one should remain engaged in supplication and similar acts at this time, whereas it has been observed that people—even the imam of the mosque and the mosque attendants—waste this time.

Takhrij:
«أخرجه النسائي في الكبرٰي، حديث:9895، وابن حبان (الموارد)، حديث:296، وله طريق آخر عند الترمذي، الصلاة، حديث:212.»©Explanation:
There are various times when supplications are accepted. One of these times is the period between the adhan and the iqamah, because during this blessed time the worshipper is in complete attention towards Allah, and is in a state of waiting for the prayer. Therefore, this time should not be wasted in idle talk.
