´Bilal bin Yasar bin Zaid [the freed slave of the Prophet(ﷺ)] narrated:` “My father narrated to me, from my grandfather, that he heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say: ‘Whoever says: “I seek forgiveness from Allah, the Magnificent, whom there is none worthy of worship but Him, the Living, Al-Qayyum, and I repent to him,” (Astaghfirullāhal-`Aẓīm alladhī lā ilāha illā huwal-Ḥayyul-Qayyūmu wa atūbu ilaih) then Allah will forgive him, even if he fled from battle.’”

Explanation:
1:
I seek forgiveness from Allah, the Most Great and Most Exalted, besides Whom there is no deity worthy of worship, Who is Ever-Living (al-Hayy) and Sustainer of all (al-Qayyum), and I turn to Him in repentance.
Note:
In the chain of narration, both Bilal and Yasar bin Zayd—the father and the son—are unknown narrators (majhool), but this hadith is strengthened by the narrations of Ibn Mas'ud and others, thus it is authentic. See: Sahih Sunan Abi Dawud: 1358, Sahih al-Targhib wa al-Tarhib: 1622, al-Sahihah: 2727.
